friendly reminder to fic writers that you are so valid and you work so hard and your efforts goes way too unappreciated for the impact it has on people!! but thank you so much

words are hard but you wrangle them into an art form and you do it for no cost at all, what did we ever do to deserve you?

let me tell you, it takes a giant bucket of courage to put yourself out on these internet waters, but you make people’s days brighter, and you fill the space with just a little bit more light,

you deserve so much more credit for your art form. you put so much time in, so many of your ideas condensed into coherent pieces of work and that’s truly incredible

a lot of people say “writing is easy! anybody can do it!” but does everyone do it? no, they Do Not. but you Do, and that’s just plain spectacular

a lot of people judge you. a lot of people have given you a bad rep. or criticism. but you’re still putting your work out there and heck I’m proud of you, we all owe you a big one

I can guarantee you that more people have read and enjoyed your content than you’ll ever know. stats lie. people in the online community hide. that doesn’t make your work any less deserving of love

fics are such a comforting medium! pretty sure there’s a fic for every emotion on the spectrum, and the fact that people are out there harnessing that emotion and making it real? you’re make people feel less alone. that’s rad as hell

hey and let’s not forget the Justice you bring to your muses! you have the power to change a character’s legacy the moment you explore them beyond (or within!) their canon restraints. if that isn’t sorcery I don’t know what is

you shape a world from an idea. you make one word into many. you take time out of your life to pour yourself into your creating something that couldn’t exist without you. that’s pretty frickin’ awesome.

you’re connecting to someone out there! your voice, that is so unique to you, is reaching someone because nobody can tell a story like you can. maybe you’re reaching them when they need it most. fic is fearless that way

not to be dramatic but you’re transcending space and time and immortalising a feeling. you write that silliness, that sadness, that anger, that love, that healing. you immortalise that feeling. you have so much power.

people aren’t always happy with canon, or they want more, because what they have is not enough. who’s out here dishing out the goods? fic writers, that’s who. you’re the real MVPs

no writer is the same! no writing style is the best! go ham! slam out those sweet metaphors! or keep it simple and sharp — fresh is good! make it blunt or flower it up, steal some hearts or break them! experiment! enjoy! who’s going to stop you but yourself?

you entertain people, awe people, and inspire people. your work is familiar, yet new and compelling and wonderful. think about the people who have yet to find your work, yet to have been changed by it

your stories make people laugh! or cry! or scream or swoon or sigh! isn’t it amazing that your words alone can have such an effect on someone even if they’re miles and miles away from you?

your ideas don’t have to please people to be valuable! if you’re writing content you enjoy, you will find people that enjoy it just as much as you, and I think that’s super neat

it’s okay to struggle with your writing! it’s okay if things don’t work out first try! you are challenging creativity and taking time to figure out your thoughts and that’s a perfectly good step towards making a more complete final product!

hey, fic writers? thank you for providing us with new perspectives. thank you for writing us worlds where characters find their happiness and find their woes. thank you for giving so many characters the depth they deserve.

(blasting the stereo) anyway, don’t let anyone undermine how hard it is to write! people can, and will wait! your work is worth waiting for - so don’t burn yourself out if you can help it. be kind to yourself.

BACK TO THIS THREAD.. writers you deserve the literal world for your services, never think you aren't doing enough, because dammit there's someone out there looking for something that only you specifically can produce and that's just the coolest thing ever!!

writers love thread: how do you manage to stay so eloquent and communicate your ideas in such a beautiful way? writing isn't like speaking, it takes so much thought and drive and inspiration and honestly massive props, every single time

quick shoutout to writers who work really hard and don't get noticed. your work is valuable and important and at your core, you are so powerful for continuously creating the kind of magic you want to see in the world. may someone out there discover your work and fall in love.

gentle reminder that all fic writers are valid, no matter the length of your fic or the posting frequency!! you put your heart in it and that's what matters!!!

back on the writers love thread just to say that every bit of writing counts! don't be ashamed of your old works, they're there to help you learn and grow and get you where you wanna be. you'll be telling stories people will wanna read again and again. you're amazing.

quick ad break to gently holler @ writers: you don't have to be constantly producing work to be a good writer, writing comes and goes and that's okay. your worth isn't made up of how much you produce! don't be so hard on yourself!

I hope all writers know that I am so proud of them and that the love and effort they put into their work is unbeatable! even if it's been a long while, that doesn't make any of their pieces any less valuable, and I hope they know that, always always always
