(24) On this 4th day of #BlackHistoryMonth we are honoring Nelson Mandela! Like so many others, Mandela's history as a socialist has been erased from public memory.

Like MLK, Mandela is upheld as a symbol of Non Violent resistance despite having no illusions of its necessity.
(25) On this 5th day of #BlackHistoryMonth , we are solemnly celebrating what would have been Trayvon Martin's 24th birthday. Martin was shot in Sanford, FL by George Zimmerman.

(34..) When asked why he didn’t want his portrait hung in public places, as was the norm for other African leaders, Sankara replied “There are seven million Thomas Sankaras.”

For once, the 80s aesthetic makes sense without being anachronistic. Refreshing
(35) "Under its current form, that is imperialism-controlled, debt is a cleverly managed re-conquest of Africa, aiming at subjugating its growth and development through foreign rules. " -Sankara

(40 contd.) "My son didn't hurt nobody. . . Like I said earlier, he fed all @LMPD. The police would come up to his shop and talk to him and be with him. He fed the police. He fed them free. He fed the police and didn't charge them nothing. My son was a good son." -- Odessa Riley
