Lemme just tell you about how amazing my job is guys.
Okay. So. I am a CNA here in town. And it has been a super rough week. This is the first shift I have worked since my best friend passed. I guess my residents could tell I was gone for a few days, and that I was acting different. They checked on me all day
Each time, I told them I was okay. A family memeber came in and said I had seemed off, asked me what was wrong. To which I replied “it’s been a rough week” he paused for a moment and said “sometimes things get rough. But talking about it can help. If you need anything let me know
I thanked him and walked off. About an hour later the family member went to leave. He stopped me and told me “you need to smile. It’ll all work out. And don’t forget. God loves you” and he gave me a hug.
Then later that evening one of my residents asked me again what was wrong. (I work in the dementia unit so things get repetitive sometimes) I finally explained that a friend of mine had passed away. She looked outside, and asked me if I knew why it was raining.
I tried to come up with some scientific explanation to which she laughed and said “no honey. You have been crying for three days. The rain is now Shea crying from heaven. She is trying to tell you that it’s okay. Things will be okay”
After reading this I dare someone to say they have a more rewarding job than I do. I will fight them. And I will win.
