✨Dramas that I watched (2016)✨
1. #Koizora (2007)
- classic and cliche combination of romance and tragedy due to sickness
- The movie is better than this drama version
- Everything was just predictable but you’ll still end up feeling sad and heavy
- Not a bad watch if you want to use up your box of Kleenex
2. Hana Kimi (2007)
- unpopular opinion: Taiwanese version is better than this
- surprisingly more slapstick than the TW version but it definitely had a better closure
- some parts were really boring and dragging
- Shun Oguri and Ikuta Toma were a tandem to beat!
3. My Queen (2009)
- paved the way for May-December romance in dramaland
- #EthanRuan’s Lucas was just too good to be true!
- strong competition between male leads will make you have a real dilemma in choosing the better one
- will make you laugh until you cry with its charm
4. Drama Go Go Go (2012)
- maybe a first in dramaland for being a dramaception
- #RubyLin was so lucky to choose from her selection of male leads: #JiroWang, #LinGengXin, & #HuBing
- can be dragging due to female lead’s issues
- not recommended unless you’re a fan of the actors
5. #ScarletHeart (2011)
- time-traveling is not new in dramaland anymore but this drama made that concept simple yet heartbreaking
- this may not be my cup of tea but I definitely agree that this is a must-watch in C-dramaland!
- solid casting
- met and loved #LinGengXin here!
6. #HapiMari (2016)
- watched this all for @DeanFujioka and he didn't disappoint!
- light, fluffy, and a no-brainer
- warning: lots of cliché drama tropes
- leads had great chemistry despite a really huge age gap in real life
- second lead syndrome alert: #ShirasuJin is precious.
7. #LoveO2O (2016)
- very promising for its unique storyline
- #YangYang’s Xiao Nai became everyone’s ideal boyfriend
- sorry to say this but this drama had horrible kissing scenes
- didn’t like this one but I can recommend it to people who want to start watching C-dramas
8. #DevilBesideYou (2005)
- maybe I would have liked this more if I watched it when I was growing up
- given that it’s an old drama, a lot of the visual effects and acting are cringe-worthy if you watch it now
- totally get why this is a TW drama classic but it’s just not for me
9. #Addicted (2016)
- my first ever BL drama and where I met #JohnnyHuang who’s part of my faves!
- story was not entertaining and even dragged on despite just having short episodes
- only stayed for the OTP’s chemistry and because both of them are so lovable!
- needs a sequel
10. #LoveMeIfYouDare (2015)
- excellent storytelling that will keep you on your feet
- loved the uniqueness of each case
- #WallaceHuo’s Jin Bo Yan was perfectly peculiar and played his role so well
- if you’re looking for a good psychological thriller, then this drama is for you
11. #Bromance (2016)
- #BaronChen and #MeganLai had sizzling chemistry as shown by their many hot kissing scenes
- worst second leads storyline that I’ve ever seen in a drama that I just needed to be rescued from them
- romantic, funny, and entertaining
12. #InAGoodWay (2013)
- gives the word "freedom" a whole new meaning
- my kind of slice-of-life and slow-burn romance
- lead characters were very mature and wise for their age
- you can feel that you're growing up with them as the story progresses
- Wu Bai's "Lingering". Period.
End of thread!! #InAGoodWay and #LoveMeIfYouDare were my winners from this year of drama-watching 💖
