i have some notes to make about the "aren't you sick of me yet?" scene; a cmbyn thread
it all starts here, when they wake up and then go swimming
elio is clearly uncomfortable with oliver beside him because he doesn't know what he's feeling nor if what he might be feeling is reciprocated and his first instinct is to think that it isn't, so he kinda of unconsciously try to push oliver away
so in a way to keep things as if nothing big happened, elio and oliver go swimming, like they did together every day ever since day one, jogging in a day and swimming on the next one
oliver never had a opnen space to be the gay butterfly he is nor to be with someone the way he as with elio and the thought of elio just wanting casual sex frightened him
then they go back home, sit down with all the perlmans to have breakfast and act normal (even though they only dream that no one knows, look anella, she knows everything, she heard everything and mafalda is always looking for signs) but Oliver needs to breathe and relax
so he takes the fact that he need to go to the post office and get out of there as quickly as possible, expecting to have a little space to breath and think straight (what he isn't btw)
BUUUUUT not even two minutes after he got to the post office elio shows up and WOW wtf is he doing there? wasn't he the one acting like he was molested just about an hour ago?
so Oliver asks, trying to sound like it is a joke: "aren't you sick of me yet?" because in his head elio only wanted him for a night, so he had to make sure he wouldn't get hurt and be the first to make a "joke"
but guess what??? IT BACKFIRED!!! elio's reaction just showed how embarrassing it was for both of them because for a few seconds elio felt like he was bothering oliver
so they go walking into that alleyway, kinda of wanting to hold hands, but they're afraid they'll get caught but after an eternity they finally do and we're all like "AAAAAAWNT" with heart eyes in our faces
and then, when they hold hands in the middle of a public space is when they both realize that the feeling is mutual. before that it was only carnal, they made love the night before thinking it wouldn't mean nothing to the other when in fact it meant the world to both of them
but even after they both realized it elio still needs a verbal confirmation, so he asks:
and oliver couldn't be happier in responding it not only with words, but with his body as well.

"I would kiss you if I could"
so, responding to elio in the beginning of the book where he's wondering when, where and how it began, I'd say it all began in that post office, when Oliver was picking up his mails and through that hand holding in a alleyway.
