Words matter. Of course they do. Hungary just handed a huge majority to a government running almost exclusively on an anti-migrant platform.
I hate to be Captain Basic here but if you keep framing people who are in mortal peril as subhuman, then voters and many other members of the general public are eventually going to see and treat them as such.
