Wife beating and marital rape sanctioned in the Hindu scriptures:

Source: Brihadaranyaka Upanishad part 6, chapter 4 (One of the oldest Upanishads composed 900 – 600 BCE.) Translation by Swami Nikhilananda (1895–1973), follower of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda http://swamij.com/upanishad-brihadaranyaka.htm
Wife beating and marital rape verse: Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 6.4.7

Translation and commentary by Swami Madhavananda
#Beef was sanctioned in Vedic literature: If a man desires to beget a son who'd study all the Vedas and get name & fame, then he and his wife SHOULD EAT BEEF (of a vigorous bull) cooked with rice, and have it with cow ghee: Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 6.4.18 (tr. Swami Madhavananda)
Correction: The commentary on the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad is by Adi Shankaracharya. Translated into English by Swami Madhavananda. https://twitter.com/AnaMyID/status/981063301453963264
What is the food recommended for a man desiring an excellent daughter who'd be a "pandit"? Cook rice with sesame seeds & eat it with ghee. If you are wondering whether this means she can read the Vedas... nope; Adi Shankara's commentary on Brihadaranyaka Upanishad makes it clear:
“The scholarship of the daughter is regarding domestic affairs only, for she is not entitled to read the Vedas.”

~Adi Shankara, that renowned 9th century Indian sage of Advaita Vedanta, in his Bhāṣya on the ancient Upanishads (sacred shruti literature).
"During medieval times, 3 great Brahmanic Acharyas (Shankaracharya, Ramanujacharya & Madhvacharya) wrote lengthy & “authoritative” commentaries (Bhashya) on the Bhagavad Gita, all of which glorified Krishna while systematically undermining every one of his fundamental teachings."
"Krishna repeatedly tells [in the Gita] that one must transcend all 3 Gunas in order to gain knowledge of Brahman (2:45; 14:20), & transcend Law of Karma to attain Nirvana (2:15, 51). Yet, these Acharyas keep promoting both the Brahmanic & Upanishadic doctrines at the same time."
"The Shudras and Women are not entitled to receive Brahmavidya through the Vedas, though it may be taught to them through the smritis, puranas, and so on."

~ Authoritative commentaries on the Upanishads (sacred shruti scriptures) by no less than Adi Shankaracharya himself
Cast a spell on your wife's lover!😂😂

"The man whom a Brahmana with knowledge of this ceremony curses, departs shorn of his merits. Therefore one should not wish even to cut jokes with the wife of a Vedic scholar who knows this ceremony, much less give any more serious offence"
Don't even think of having an extra-marital affair with a Brahman's wife! Fear the power of curse 😂😂
#Beef was NOT prohibited by the Buddhist King Ashoka, NOT prohibited in Manu Smriti (dharma shastra). Dharma Sutras, the Law Codes of Ancient India, prohibit only certain meat, incl chicken; but SANCTIONED #Beef; interestingly, Garlic & Onion are prohibited—Apastamba 1.17.14-39 :
Acts that cause loss of caste of Aryas, per Dharma Sutras:

"Sex with Shudras on the part of Arya women; eating the meat of dogs, humans, village cocks, village pigs, and carnivorous animals; consuming human urine & excrement; eating a Shudra’s leftovers..."

Apastamba 1.21.5-20:
"Social interaction with outcastes is not permitted."

~ Apastamba Dharma Sutra 1.21.5 (The Law Codes of Ancient India)

FWIW, the Dharma Shastras (much younger than the Dharma Sutras) strictly forbid Savarnas from mingling with lower castes / avarnas: https://twitter.com/AnaMyID/status/864471343646990336
"When someone accuses a Brahmin of a sin, he incurs a sin equal to it; twice as large if the man he accuses is innocent." ~Dharmasutra of Gautama 21.17-18

👏🏼👏🏼 Basically, you better NOT accuse a Brahmin EVEN IF the accused is guilty as charged 🤨
Desi #Beef cuisine without onion & garlic is hard to imagine. Ironically, Western #Beef dishes are 'Vedic' (re. Dharmasutras — Law Codes of Vedic Aryans). Hindus who want to "Bring back the Vedas" should Go for it 👍 At least on foreign trips without guilt. https://twitter.com/krishashok/status/986091342538289153
Indians should be inspired by Swami Vivekananda to relish #beef without guilt at least in foreign lands where it isn't a local taboo. https://twitter.com/AnaMyID/status/958339559757987840
For what it's worth, in the ancient Upanishads and the Dharma Sutras it has been advised that it's not a sin to practice the local customs of the land in which you reside. https://twitter.com/AnaMyID/status/986104632563851264
Sanatana Dharma: Wife-beating ('stuck with a stick & the like') is not a crime, but if wife leaves home to escape abuse, she's to be punished. If a Brahmin wife runs away from her abusive husband, she's considered degraded & disowned:
