The story of #GanitoBySarahGeronimo, a thread hihi

For those curious, Ganito was conceived from a brainstorming session with Sarah. Habang nagbabatuhan ng ideas nakwento ko sa kanya si Junot Diaz, author of This Is How You Lose Her, which I was really into at that time.
This led to me showing her a Thought Catalog article with the same title, which was an essay on how someone you love fades out of your life when you slowly take them for granted with the smallest actions that build up as time passes
Tinanong ko siya kung gusto niya tungkol sa ganon, sabi niya masyado daw sad and nega haha what if daw baliktad, instead of "this is how you lose her", gawin naming "this is how you don& #39;t"?
I was game, so we started exchanging thoughts and insights on loving someone. It was a fruitful discussion, and being in a committed relationship also, we agreed with each other& #39;s beliefs and opinions.
So yun binigyan ko siya ng pen and paper and told her to write all of her thoughts. No limits, no holding back, she can take as much time as she wants. Tapos yun nagsulat lang siya nang nagsulat habang nagchika muna kami ni Sir Civ of Viva haha
After about 20 minutes I think she shyly handed the paper back to me and asked kung okay na ba yun. Napuno niya yung papel, back to back single spaced haha. Sabi ko sobrang okay na to, ako na bahala.
The next day I picked up my guitar and studied her written insights. Sentences, metaphors, even random phrases. They were earnest and sincere and wonderfully passionate. "Kaya mo ba siyang samahan sa madlim niyang mundo?", she wrote. That was my favorite.
So there, I formed a song out of our shared thoughts, recorded a demo, and emailed it to them, praying na magustuhan nila. Tas ayon nagustuhan naman nila haha. Nagsched ng recording si Sarah and tadaaa
She was heavily involved all throughout the process, hanggang sa recording, arrangement, at post production. Idea niya yung end part, yung may backup vocals na kumakanta ng "ganito, ganito" (na siya rin yung kumanta haha)
Sobrang particular niya with what she wanted, pero super gracious the whole time. As with the other songs we worked on, super grateful lang siya when I felt like I should be grateful for trusting me.
No BS, Sarah is definitely something special. There& #39;s a reason why she& #39;s where she is right now. Minsan nakakalimutan kong siya si Sarah Geronimo. I will always be thankful for the opportunity to keep working with her. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="❤️" title="Red heart" aria-label="Emoji: Red heart"> #SGGanito
