Alright honestly, I really want to know why feminine hygiene products are not provided to us monthly. Not only do we make up MORE than half of at least the American population, we are born this way and would NEVER choose to have a period and certainly NOT every month (thread)
Our periods last on average 3-5 days and we get them every 21-35 days. We get our first periods sometime between 10-15 on average, until between 41-60 when we go through menopause. So that’s an average of between 31-50 years of monthly periods, not including those who get more...
than one per month such as those with #PCOS. So back to our maths. At the minimum of having an average of 31 years of fertility, that comes to about 372 periods aka 372 weeks of buying #FeminineHygieneProducts I found a @HuffPost link that highlights these details using different
math but the problem is still being highlighted and shows that the end result is a woman having to pay more than $18,000 for period related products in her lifetime. Not including yearly GYN visits. Why is this okay? Here’s the link, pass along and decide for yourselves.

I am not a sexist, I don’t even feel like much of a feminist but, Men don’t have anything they are forced to buy throughout their lifetimes like this - Is that why it’s like this? Do YOU consider #FeminineHygieneProducts a luxury?
