For all of #mcfc's great football of recent years, I think this remains the best action I've ever seen in a Manchester City game.
This was also the same season that #mcfc fans were treated to this extraordinary strike, during a 4-1 loss at Maine Road.
Later in the season, as both #mcfc and Leicester battled for survival, City scrapped a 2-1 win at Filbert St. The opener courtesy of @OfficialSGoater's back...
...and the second came when Paulo Wanchope slotted home a back-heel half-volley. #mcfc
#mcfc went out of the FA Cup at Liverpool that year - the Reds opened the scoring from the penalty spot, awarded when referee Graham Poll went down in the box.
In the same game as that goalmouth scramble at the start of the thread, Danny Tiatto had this goal ruled out - for offside. #mcfc
When #mcfc went out of the League Cup that year, they were 1-0 up against Ipswich when this happened to @Kevinhorlock6 in the box. It wasn't a penalty. It wasn't a card. The referee even played on for a bit. City lost 1-2.
"I thought he'd pointed to the spot at first," Nicky Weaver said after this incident in a 2-2 draw at Bradford. In fact, Ashley Ward was booked for unsporting behaviour and Weaver given a free kick. #mcfc
Aston Villa manager John Gregory absolutely bollocked his team at half time for going in at the break at 1-1 with #mcfc. Except he'd left the dugout early and missed that his side were 2-1 up after Nicky Weaver did this.
