Jokes are jokes, but I wanted to highlight that although nicotine is generally considered bad due to smoking (it can be consumed in different ways), turns out it may help people with ADHD according to studies that I& #39;ll link below. https://twitter.com/dchest/status/970772071411343361">https://twitter.com/dchest/st...

Small doses of nicotine also improve focus and alertness, while larger doses are sedative. It may also kill you (especially if you get your medical advice from random people on Twitter.)
The best thing I learned while reading about neurotransmitters is that most motivational/behavior advice is mostly useless and relies on societal norms rather then the study on how people work.
The worst societal believe is that "lazy" or "shy" or some other different from the "norm" people can turn their life around with some spoken motivation or will power, "become themselves", etc. They may just don& #39;t have the appropriate chemicals for that.
And yes, some of these can be fixed by applying a different lifestyle, but some can& #39;t — it& #39;s just how their body works. Maybe not even their body — there& #39;s ~2.5 kg of bacteria inside your body, right fucking now, sitting there, making you alive.
Alcohol, drugs, tea, coffee, maté, probably all have roots in this: applying things to improve the person& #39;s internal state of mind, sometimes with bad consequences according to external observer.
We shouldn& #39;t judge people for their behavior, maybe they feel better in this state of mind, even thought they are considered to be worse from the society& #39;s point of view. This, of course, applies to people who have a mind specifically tuned to this (don& #39;t judge them!)
