I'm still fascinated by how memory works.
I wanted to know what time I left MK last time we played at Birmingham in the evening. No idea, so I thought old tweets might help.
They didn't, really. The one about the entertainment is from lunchtime, and the next one is on arriving at the ground.
Wait a minute though. What was I doing in Covent Garden? Absolutely no idea. I went down to London a few times "on a whim" while I was under-employed, but 18 months earlier, not that late on.
Hmmm. Maybe searching my PC for the date will help. Nope, not really.
What about the day before? Ah yes. I kept a record of everything I got paid for.
Obviously I can see the names here...
And suddenly it all comes back. I dropped Mrs Q at work. My mate picked me up from near there. We drove to HA8 and I did what I needed to do. We parked at Burnt Oak and got the tube to Leicester Square. He went off to do his job while I had a wander...
Then we went to a little deli thing for lunch, before getting the tube back and arriving back at Mrs Q's work in time for her early finish. I jumped in the car, did the job in Northampton and made my way up to Brum.
Where was all that detail sitting? All that visualisation? (I can see the location in Edgware, the deli in Covent Garden, the location in Northampton).

Why do some details trigger it but not others?

What's in there I've completely forgotten, and what will trigger it to emerge?
Weird shit, man.
Best bit - I will forget ever tweeting this thread, and in 18 month will look at it with some bemusement.
