so this whole time, whenever Hoseok said Nemo in his raps in Go Go and Hope World, he was actually referring to the literary classic 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea!!

he even added a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy reference in his music video... i stan a cultured man

#HopeWorld
in case y’all didn’t notice the theme in that verse of hope world lyrics also alluded to 80 Days Around the World

and he mentioned alice in wonderland + hogwarts in Daydream hehehe my inner book nerd is weeping
hoseok is a closet literature geek thats so hot 😩💦💦
bye im still not over this???? like y’all have been out here making Finding Nemo fish memes when my man was actually out here being an intellectual with great taste in literature don’t sell him short 😤😤
just a note for those not familiar with these works:
-Professor Aronnax encountered the mysterious Captain Nemo, who (forcefully?) takes them to explore the wonders of the underwater world in his submarine... they’re torn between enjoying the beauty and finding a way to escape
eventually Nemo loses his hinge on reality and pilots his submarine to a giant whirlpool..Aronnax has no choice but to escape

so yes i find it rather interesting for hoseok call himself Nemo and for us to be Aronnax. gives a much darker context to a seemingly optimistic song😌
its a pretty dark book bc we follow Aronnax’s POV but hoseok chose to see things as Nemo

-Dont Panic is just /the/ ultimate catchphrase of Hitchhikers Guide (idk how to explain it lol to encourage intergalactic travelers to just enjoy the ride?) and Arthur is the protagonist
just putting this here in case y’all are interested - im gonna be doing an analysis of the imagery in the daydream mv and the artistic references hoseok made, sometime tomorrow after my interview!!
finally started the thread!! though im just making it about the other references hoseok made (ill add some interpretations later on hehe) https://twitter.com/seokidokie/status/969948626809184260?s=21
