It's a gameplay element, but at his weakest, Event Lancelot gets a def boost if Vane's in the party, he relies on him alot ;___;

They're both the same Water element, so you can easily hear their paired lines when you put them together on the frontline. Since you can easily get Event Lan/Vane from Side Stories, it's easy to listen to their banter.

Their merchandise is matching rings. They actually wear them in official art.

Their holiday lines sometimes reference each other, but the 3rd Year Christmas lines take the cake b/c it implies that while Lan is jailed, he dreams of Vane!!

From the Defender's Oath manga, Lan/Vane have never fought b/c Vane holds Lan in high regard and Lan trusts Vane alot

If they're worried, they usually can't hide it from the other for too long, and end up confiding in one another b/c they've been together so long they can read each other's faces. Even if Vane doesn't think his advice is smart or anything, Lan turns to him just to talk it out.

Percy's pretty rude to both of them, and while they let insults about themselves go, they can't stand insults about the other and get angry enough to want to fight him on the other's behalf.

Lanchan doesn't protest against the nickname anymore, probs bc it does nothing, but when Vane does drop it, you know he's being serious...

As their nature as childhood friends, they'll sometimes reminiscence and the glimpses of their childhood always show two boys looking out for each other. It leaves alot of open ended possibilities. They've been through alot since before they were even knights...

SSR Vane's fates are packed with ship material, as if it wasn't clear these two have a symbiotic relationship. For the fanservicey White Day lines, it's clear what Lan regards as important in a relationship, and that's exactly what they are: bettering each other as they grow.

You know how in extreme times of stress, you find out where your loyalties lie? Even after being captured and abused, Lan's first reaction at being rescued is relief that Vane is okay from his long expedition. Vane likewise will always stick with Lan, even against the world.

I predicted Summer Sieg b/c he was suspiciously absent in Grandblues even when mentioned, so I'm guessing that Lan/Vane, who keep appearing together since Summer Percy's drafts, might get released together for summer... PLS DUO UNIT LIKE THE MAIDS!!

They truly, honestly get so happy for the other!! Vane is so excited for Lan's investiture ceremony and even when he thinks he's found Valentine's choco in his room! Lan meanwhile always looked after him and seeing him grown up makes him sentimental...

Their official art out of their armour often have their clothes match or mirror each other in some way. Look at their body language too...

Read the Dragon Knights' manga too! Beautiful art and very expressive, you get to see a lot of subtle body language cues you wouldn't see in the normal event format.

Lan/Vane cameo in The Freeze!

Lan/Vane, while exploring the world, are assigned to a strict explorer ship. Vane gets seasick but still overworks so Lan takes care of him. The ending has an onsen scene where Lan/Vane (pass the soap!) strangely have no sprites when Soiya trio do?

The Free Quest, Gird your Fundoshis!, on Auguste is pure gold. Lan helps out the Soiya trio, forms a fundoshi bond and promises to wear one the next time they meet.

Vane apparently can't wait to see Lancelot in a fundoshi.

SR Lan's def boost makes it way over to a crossover game (Shadowverse)! He gains +1/+1 (att/def) if Vane is on the board when he attacks.

They're tokens from a spell card. This stat boost means that lan/vane were designed to be used together when played with the enhance cost.

Lan's gotten more serious over the years, but his impish side is best seen when he's with Vane, and Vane doesn't let him forget that he knows every side of him that Lan thinks he grew out of, considering Vane grew up with him.

Vane's low self confidence is subtle: wishing to catch up to the prodigious Lancelot (separated in rank for years after all), but it is also Lancelot who is always softly reassuring him that he does more than enough.

The campfire scene in SSR Vane's fate is the perfect example.

Whether the game will reference the drama cds remains to be seen, but their dreams as adults align with each other's perfectly enough, Lan wishing to forge ahead for Feendrache's sake and Vane always there to support him bc Lan can't do everything alone

Bistro hammers ingame that Lan thinks Vane's cooking is the best in the skies. Meanwhile Lancelot 'helps out' when Vane cooks, and sometimes gets the occasional bento box from Vane.

One of LanVane's EMP lines is literally just Lan saying "Vane! Your cake is the best!"

From common solider to Vice Capn, Vane's kept the constant motivation of wanting to become 'part of Lancelot's power', telling others he wants to get stronger to catch up to his rank. The LanVane SSR has Vane reveal to Lan that he climbed the ladder to spend more time with him.

We only get glimpses of their childhood, but as per the Pash interview, Lan/Vane spent it alongside nature: camping, fishing, long walks, getting flashbacks about being lost in the woods whilst huddling for warmth in a cave, having a lake as a secret hideout...

In the AR performance for the Dragon Knights song, Lan walks up to Vane during his solo and deliberately touches him, specifically when he sings (chikara/力).

Vane's aspiration is to become part of Lan's power (chikara). ランちゃんの力になりたいぜ！

The saga of summer Lan/Vane without summer seasonals continues... appearing together in the background of every one of Summer Percival (2016)'s drafts, a cafe illustration that preluded Summer Siegfried (2017), and now in yukata for GBF Extra Fes 2019...

The Defender's Oath OTOCA extra is now ingame!! As important as their crossfate, it's a whole chapter on their backstory, esp Lan's motivation in becoming a knight was to prevent others suffering like Vane did, and how their relationship changed each other for the better.

Summer LanVane was finally released after multiple cameos of them together! In a rare moment of relaxation and amidst their usual nostalgia, Lan is able to admit the pressure of his role as Captain and the comfort he finds in Vane's ever constant presence at his side.

The DK manga gave the cat that LanVane adopted together in the preview of Four Knights of a Fallen Land a canon form. Considering the manga expanded on a lot of the original event's old writing, the mangaka also gave the cat the name of Mut, after Cygames' own mascot (Bahamut).

when they were little, vane was worried his grandma's cheesecake wouldn't impress lancelot among his fancier bday gifts, so he started cooking... now he regularly makes him lunch and there's countless examples of lancelot gushing about how good vane's cooking is
