Are the Amish allowed to wear sunglasses?
I passed 4-5 Amish buggies this morning while driving directly into the blinding sunrise and not one of those fellas had sunglasses on
A quick google search yielded inconclusive results
For people that spend as much time in the sun as the Amish, it's hard to believe they would blatantly disregard eye protection
And maybe I'm way off base here....but I have never seen an Amish person in shades.
And it becomes difficult to find conclusive evidence seeing as they cannot have their picture taken
So if any of my tens of followers have an eyewitness account, I'd appreciate you sharing it.
I understand they wear hats with large brims. But there are limits to the eye protection a hat can offer.
Shark Tank idea for @mcuban - "organic sunglasses for the Amish" give me 10k and I'll give you 100% of my idea. Hint: sun dried nightcrawlers would make sturdy rims. Good luck selling the product once they learn how to make them on their own.
You may not profit much, but you can sleep well knowing you helped prevent an entire community from developing crappy John Goodman eyes in their advanced age.
As new information presents itself, I grow as a person. I have observed that the Amish do wear sunglasses. I can rest easy knowing that they take the necessary precautions to avoid John Goodman eyes. End of thread.
