Watched Man of Steel again. Almost half of the movie was dedicated to showing Superman's origin story. Initially, I didn't pay much attention since it was yet another origin story. But this one had more depth explaining how Clark restrained himself from showing unlimited power.
Jonathan Kent understood how the ability to yield unlimited power could corrupt his son. That power displayed to humans would make it worse. Staying grounded helped Superman build his morality and finally stand for the symbol he wears. All because of the lessons from his father.
Don't think the other Superman movies have tried to rationalise how and why doesn't Superman, arguably the most powerful superhero, doesn't go rogue. Don't know whether it was just Nolan who wrote this part himself. Man of Steel showed how Superman became human.
To complete it all, a beautiful soundtrack was created to turn Superman's symbol of hope into melody
Even this soundtrack feels like Clark's journey to Superman. Starting off slow as he discovers his powers, understands his potential, and finally realises his purpose.
