KELVIN “50 CENT” MARTIN

THE ORIGINAL 50 CENT.

BROOKLYN’S MOST INFAMOUS.

THREAD BELOW. @_ValTown_
To save the confusion I’m going to address 50 as Kelvin in the beginning because some of you bozos will still quote this thread and say...

“YoU MeAn CuRTis JaCKSoN?”

Then I’ll probably say something to you and get my account suspended.
Kelvin “50 Cent” Martin was born in Fort Greene, Brooklyn on July 24th 1964.
Fort Greene back in the day was a relatively rough place, like many other areas in Brooklyn. In 2018 it is one of the more gentrified areas in the borough now. Director Spike Lee grew up in Fort Greene.
Kelvin grew up in the R.V. Ingersoll houses otherwise known to New Yorkers as the “Fort Greene Projects”.
Brooklyn during the Crack Era was known for its stick-up kids and Dangerous gangs. They had kingpins, but people feared their muscle the most. Here is Pop and Tim from The Decepticons Gang that I talked about briefly in my very first thread.
There were many high level dealers from Brooklyn who were making large amounts of money at that time, such as Kendu, The late Domencio, Ra’son (pictured here together at a party) Puerto Rican Jesus, and Delson (also pictured below standing up next to the Wicker Chair)
50 seen that these dealers were easy targets because of their flamboyant behavior so he decided to rob them (not any of the ones I listed in the previous tweet although he did have issues with Domencio)
50 rolled with the stick-up kids and standing at 5’2 weighing 120 pounds, he sought out to make a reputation of his own on Brooklyn’s streets. He’s on the far right with the glasses on.
50 was sent to live with his Paternal Grandmother in The Bronx and spent his formative years there in a predominately Puerto Rican neighborhood. He was very fluent in Spanish.
50 got sent up Rikers Island where he met Jimmy Henchman, who was running one of the blocks in the adolescent unit. 50 noticed Jimmy with a lot of chains on his neck and planned to rob him, but seen that he was outnumbered and requested to move to another block. Just a smart move
Jimmy noticed 50 requesting to move to another block and seen that he was smarter than he looked. So he respected him for knowing his boundaries. When 50 got out, people from Brooklyn would send Jimmy pictures of what was happening in the streets and he saw 50 in many pics fly
This is the same Jimmy Henchman that had issues with Tupac during the 90’s.
Seeing those pictures he knew that 50 was the real deal and he could hold his own anywhere.
50 was known for his ruthless behavior, and the ability to put fear in anyone he came in contact with at will. With that he also had a soft side for the women in his life and his family.
50 linked up with his friend Eric B along with other close associates and friends. Naming their group The Supreme Team, just like the Supreme Team from South Jamaica Queens. Here is 50 on the bottom right in a picture that is on the back of Eric B and Rakim’s Paid in Full Album.
50 wasn’t playing games with anyone, he robbed whoever he felt like taking from. Including LL Cool J 😂, he took his chain and gave it to his daughter.
That Pendant you see Rakim wearing on the front cover of the Paid in Full Album, 50 allegedly snatched that too.
Back to 50 and Domencio, he and Domencio ran into each other at a skating rink, said some words, people say 50 tried to rob him. 50 slashes Domencio in the face with a knife and Domencio’s people jumps 50.
Domencio wasn’t a punk, so 50 met his match that night. Domencio later met his demise when Alpo (pictured below) had him killed over a female.
Rapp, the Puerto Rican pictured in that album photo; was a mentor to 50 and was someone 50 could confide in.
50 had a good balance between his street endeavors and his home life. Never intertwined the two, always kept them separate. And this is a time where people’s mothers and families were being killed all the time.
Over the years 50 gained much enemies, got to the point where his only escape was to enlist himself in the Army. At least for basic training so he could get away for awhile.
50 spent seven months in the Army doing basic training in Georgia before being discharged due to charges on Armed Robbery in New York.
50, knowing those enemies were still looking for him; he decided to hide in the Albany Projects at his girlfriend’s apartment. He figured since people would think that he would leave and go to another borough, it was no way he could have the balls to stay in Brooklyn.
He couldn’t hide forever, so using the training he got from the Army; he became more handy with his gun. Never was a good fighter.
50 was working with a powerful boss from Brooklyn named Webb, 50 tried persuading FBI informant Glaze Gibbs (pictured below) into robbing one of Webb’s stash spots. Glaze was an enforcer for Fat Cat’s crew although he is from Brooklyn.
Glaze told Webb 50’s plans and Webb ordered that 50’s associate Wemo (pictured below) carry out the hit and murder 50 under any circumstance night or day.
On October 24th 1987, Wemo followed Webb’s orders and murdered 50 in the Albany Projects as 50 was leaving his girlfriend’s apartment. 50 was rushed to the hospital and was still alive in ICU with a gunshot wound to the head, talking and all. He was moved to regular care and died
Years later, Curtis Jackson ( the new 50 Cent ) adopted the name based off of the original 50. He used to go by his childhood name Booboo, and had control of the Southside after Bimmy (Waka flocka’s uncle) gave him control of Guy Brewer BLVD. Bimmy is on the right.
50 Cent paid homage to the real 50 Cent by getting him a new headstone.
50 knew he was gonna die, he told Eric B that he was gonna get killed, and indeed he did. Live by the Gun die by the Gun. Brooklyn Legend.
Here is 50 along with Mike Tyson and other associates. He’s on the far left.
