1-There's something i usually say - "Any successful business model already exists in some crude form"

Before Cowbell caught on that it was a viable biz model(& subsequently Peak), ordinary people were tying little quantities of powdered milk in nylon bags & selling in Lagos
2-Before TELCOs caught on it was a value added service for people to be able to share credit, people were scratching cards & sending the numbers (some used it as crude banking to send money to loved ones)

Most of the time, "innovators" just refine what already exists
3-Men will always find a way to solve their problems - and given the motivating factors of self-interest & cost-benefit analyses, it is likely to be the most efficient solution given available resources

That is why many big businesses just co-opt & not try to reinvent the wheel
4-The same paradigm is playing out in the matter of Nigeria's internal security architecture

Feudalists have bombastically expressed opposition & outrage at the notion of state police - But as with most efficient problem solving models, it is already happening in crude form
5-If you look carefully, community policing is already happening - From Bakassi boys, to OPC to civilian JTF in the NE to the 1,000s of armed vigilante forces spread across communities

And with the recent involvement of state governors/governments like Fayose, it is intensifying
6-With recent developments of widespread bloodshed and the presumably unstoppable herdsmen, other states will look at Ekiti & follow suit

Men, as usual, will find the most efficient model to solve their problem - Regardless of fancy political rhetoric
