If you were interested in a quick overview of the history of chivalry read this http://origins.osu.edu/review/knighthood-it-was-not-we-wish-it-were
This is another good article. Please note the code says “respect women” not “respect women who behave in a manner you deem appropriate” http://www.classichistory.net/archives/chivalry
Having said that let me also say that each gender knew what was considered proper decorum and that which was indecent. The way in which society treated them was reflected by their actions and behavior.
But one of a knights “strengths” would have been an ability to treat all women the same regardless of that woman’s behavior. Stooping to her level would have been seen as unseemly because knights weren’t peasants they were noblemen.
Side note: don’t expect ladylike behavior from hoes and don’t expect knight like behavior from some peasant ass nigga.
But Im enjoying yalls back and forth on this so please continue.
