Tweeps, 1 year ago, I made predictions as to what a Trump presidency would look like. I wanted to be wrong. As a psychotherapist, I had a strong sense of knowing what we were in for, here is what I wrote. Sad to say his behavior is like extreme pathological Narcissism. ( Thread)

Trump seems characteristically in alignment w/a mental health disorder called Narcissistic Personality Disorder ( NPD for short). Not any one thing makes for an NPD, but a whole grouping of behaviors that go together making for one extremely self-centered unethical person. 1)

My take is that his run for the Presidency was to get attention, and to be adored, admired, and popular. It's to make a world name for his Trump businesses & his legacy not to help the people who live in this country. 2)

A pathological narcissistic leader can’t digest or tolerate criticism or truth. The scrutiny that comes with the job is something he is psychologically ill equipped to cope with. People around him will get raged at until they bow down to his unreality. He isn’t fit for democracy.

Now that it’s May 2019 we see Trump is unwilling to deal with any truth, the rule of law & norms. He denies that Russia helped him win the election & rages at those who have the nerve to bring it up. But in the Mueller report we know Russia conducted a massive effort to help him.

He won't be able to take in advice from respectable experts therefore, he won't be able to keep or have A -list people around him who do an exemplary job w/ their specialty,
Cuz, they will either know or sense they won't be able to influence or talk sense into this President. 5)

All these people who worked for Trump have left him. Well this I predicted back in November 2016. Any experienced psychologist could see this was going to happen.

Keeping in mind I wrote these predictions a year ago. The Republicans who feel he can do NO wrong when he is actually breaking the law, do not understand pathological #NPD. Let's fight the good fight. No time to be complacent! (22. #Resist. End ~ Thanks for reading.

This is why people around him who have expertise, or see truth clearly, can’t speak up to DT, not even his attorney. He is accustom to raging at people what his unreality is until they bow down to him. If something terrible happens, I sincerely doubt he will be able to hear it.
