Ever thought of being a roller derby star on Mars? Well, "Trish Trash" may be a great story for you with many multi-ethnic characters!

Just have to give a shoutout to @EAlexTheGreat for the magnificence that is "Concrete Park" & all the beautiful shades of brown characters!

Though short-lived, the story in Action Lab's "Fight Like A Girl" was deeply moving and just fun overall.

If you're a fan of the Alien movie franchise & need some more Xenomorph time, I highly recommend "Aliens: Defiance" to quench the thirst.

Our girl Livewire is back and better than ever in Valiant's new "Secret Weapons" series!

Enough can not be said of the majesty, beauty and grace (along with fantasy, action and adventure) of "Niobe: She is Life".

What if Sherlock Holmes were Black? Need not wonder any longer. "Watson and Holmes" by @KarlBollers answers that AND THEN SOME!

This labor of love comic by @marcuskwame will have you sipping hot chocolate & snuggled under a warm blanket in the middle of summer!

"Afroella" is a spectacular comic by @GemmaBedeau and @LEEFWDESIGN proving a Black woman being a space captain is NOT so alien afterall!

"Princeless" by @jrome58 is a much needed story where the princess saves herself and has adventures of her own.

Comic book in novel form? Yes, it exists wonderfully in "The Keepers: Origins" by @JazminTruesdale at @AzaComics

This mind-blowing book edited by @neekaneeks will have you clamoring for more story, action and fantasy! "Afar" is a dream come true!

My list would be incomplete without including "Shaft" from none other than Dynamite!

"Bitch Planet" is added to this list for the creative, insightful, thought-provoking & often heartbreaking story in these pages.

Valiant's "Divinity" dispels the myth there is no such thing as a Black Russian. Thanks @kaiju66 for making sure this is on the list!

For those interested in going "old school" check out these titles (and others) from Milestone Comics (more of an homage to this than to DC).

A favorite comic I was sad to see go was "Welcome to Tranqulity" a small town of "super" heroes/villains whose sheriff was a Black woman.

This limited issue run of "Genius" was beautifully presented by the artistic mastery of @AfuaRichardson

Though only familiar w/them through crossover events, Battalion & Flint of Image's Stormwatch are added (thanks to @kaiju66 & @fangirlsmash)

If you loved ANY Octavia Butler masterpiece (or want to get into her fascinating works), then "Kindred" is available as a graphic novel.

Love the story of Frankenstein? Then check out this limited issue continuation of the blood line through Boom!Studios' @victorlavalle

Another fun comic full of deep sea adventure fit for a family of four is Boom!Studio's "The Deep" which is perfect for kids of all ages.

Need some intrigue, revenge, and action & adventure on a global scale? Try out Dark Horse's "Bank Shot" during its limited issue run.

Check out "Cloudia & Rex" from @lionforge to see a true test of sisterly love while battling the gods in this fantasy thriller.

Want some sweet romance in the midst of magic, mythological beings, and unruly friends? Check out Image's newly released "Moonstruck"

Want to see women take revenge on the patriarchy? Not for the faint of heart, but Boom!Studio's "Sisters of Sorrow" will captivate you.

Need a little fight club in your diet? Then take a look at this new release from Boom!Box. It introduces us to the delightful Kennedy!

What would happen if all the men were killed off and only women were left to defend the castle? Boom!Studio's "Lady Castle" answers that.

Though the story of "Y the Last Man" centers on Yorick, he would never have made it without another main character, Agent 355.

This Guy Sims' adaptation of Walter Dean Myers' novel, of the same name, will captivate your spirit. The use of black and white as the chosen art form adds so much depth to the story. It beckons readers to enter this world and forces one to ponder "What exactly is a monster?"

This particular entry provides illustrated adaptations of stories & poems from great African American writers such as Zora Neale Hurston, Langston Hughes, & James Weldon Johnson, just to name a few. For a peak into your soul, check out Frances E.W. Harper's "Shalmanezer."
