a thread of some books I've read recently/love

Nineteen Minutes | @jodipicoult - my all time favorite book.
Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief | Rick Riordan - not sure why I didn't read this when I was little but still good now
The Rose That Grew from Concrete | Tupac Shakur - Pac was ahead of his time and these poems were so eye opening
Soulcatcher | Charles Johnson - another I had to read for Lit but couldn't put down. Made my heart ache
I Can't Make This Up | @KevinHart4real - silly but also relevant
Incognegro | Mat Johnson - another for lit that was really, really good. Graphic novel form which was different for me but I loved it.
The Handmaidâs Tale | @MargaretAtwood - legitimately could not put the book down. Absolutely incredible, real, terrifying, and eye opening. I canât wait to watch the whole series on Hulu.
The Disaster Artist | @gregsestero - I read this entire book in one day. I LOVED IT and canât wait to see the move (finally!!) in a few weeks here in town.
The Road | Cormac McCarthy - Iâve been debating adding this to the thread but today I gave a presentation on it in Lit and now I have a newfound respect for it.
The Martian | Andy Weir - Iâm honestly surprised at how much I enjoyed reading this book! Excited to watch the movie.

So Youâve Been Publicly Shamed | @jonronson - finally sat down today and finished this book. I kind of feel like anyone on social media should read this.
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon - Charlieâs fave at the moment so I gave it a chance. I just finished it 2 minutes ago and Iâm already sad I canât keep reading it. 10/10
