Acc to the moral foundations theory, we have 6 systems that evolved to trigger intuitive feelings with which we respond to diff situations.

These are called moral foundations. They are: Care, Fairness, Loyalty, Authority, Sanctity. Each has a specific role in our survival.

Yep, small towns are only marginally better in these parameters. It's about the erosion of traditional communities everywhere.
