From February-March of 1945 a Japanese force of 14,000 soldiers committed massacres in #Manila as Japan lost control of the #Philippines.
this particular portion of Japan's tyranny was caught mostly in part because the US was fighting to retake Manila at the time.
as the Japanese withdrew from the city they were given orders to rape, pillage, massacre and burn Manila in scorched earth.
