This is the only picture I've been able to find of Bosco Nedelcovic. I believe he is the bottom right of this news clipping. The caption says he's an interpreter. Tanner, you're yelling, get on with it, who the hell is Bosco Nedelcovic / why does the name sound made up?
While Bosco did serve as a linguist and translator at the American Defense College in Washington DC, he's a notable figure to UFO history buffs because he served as a whistleblower of sorts.
In 1978, UFO researcher Rich Reynolds did a series of interviews with Nedelcovic and put together a document collating his testimony. I've attached some choice excerpts of Reynolds' newsletter here.
In conversations with Reynolds, Nedelcovic admitted to being part of a CIA operation, under the guise of USAID, to stage alien abductions in Brazil. This incident is covered in Pilkington's Mirage Men and another twitter user @BoltzmannBooty did a thread regarding this incident:
https://twitter.com/BoltzmannBooty/status/1382410082076536845 The thread includes some excerpts from Pilkington's book and as Mr. Booty notes, this staged abduction bears striking similarities to one of the earliest alleged alien abduction experiences, the Antonio Villas Boas abduction.
Boas was a farmer who saw an egg-shaped craft land in a field. While trying to flee, his tractor died, and he was taken aboard by one of the "ETs." He became subject to a number of medical tests and later on in the encounter, claims to have had sex with one of the "ETs" on board.
Nedelcovic's admission to Reynolds has striking similarities to Boas' experience, including the small detail of him hitting his head when being forced aboard the aircraft. Horrifyingly, the victim was tracked with thermal cameras and sedated with a spray of lorazepam.
Nedelcovic does not mention the use of hallucinogenics, (in fact, he's rather scant on details when it comes to what happened aboard the stealth helicopter,) but given the time period and Boas' recollections, I would not be surprised if hallucinogens were involved.
Reynolds conclusions after his discussions with Bosco: 1. The CIA has engaged in concocted UFO (flying saucer) events with a program called OPERATION MIRAGE. Real UFO events have occurred but hundreds of UFO episodes (worldwide) have been simulated by the CIA using experimental..
technologies, mind altering drugs, and psychological inducements. 2. Persons in the UFO field have been prevented from serious study by subtle and/or extreme CIA measures.
And lastly: 3. Some persons now in the UFO forefront are paid or volunteer CIA operatives. (The whole Bennewitz affair has proven this to be an astute observation.)
Now this is all pretty wild stuff right? Well I became obsessed with Bosco Nedelcovic and I have more findings I want to put forth. Maybe it's because his name sounds like a cheese-filled breadstick, but I think Bosco is fascinating figure to unpack.
I have to clock out for the night but I will be back and it gets even weirder. Chasing information on Bosco has led me to brushing up against some real parapolitical bugbears but I hope you'll stick with me for the ride. Be back soon!
But before I go, a hint of what's to come. Pilkington says of Nedelcovic's (official) employer, the American Defense College, (sometimes Inter-American Defense College,) that it "educates future leaders of Latin American nations." That about says it all, huh?
