How I improved my Self Control

// A thread //
1. Cold Showers

The first time I took one, I crapped my pants.

But why?

It was 30º C outside, I really wanted one!

I was scared because I didn't like the feeling of the cold water "hurting" my skin

It was all in my mind!

Now I rarely have a hot shower

That's SELF CONTROL
2. Journaling

Getting your thoughts on paper is a flex.

Sometimes it's all BS, but when you write it down on paper you gain clarity.

And written clarity helps cement self-awareness

Which in turn enhances your sense of self
3. 50 Push ups & 5K Runs

I wake up daily at around 6

I feel groggy, I feel crap

But no matter what I get my 50 + push ups in

A couple of sets, maybe 3

And / or a 5 km + run

You know what? I feel like new

I never regret a run or exercise I didn't want to do

N E V E R !
4. Planning my days

Planning what I want to get done on my days is gold.

I look at my plan

Digest it

It's in my head, I start to embody it

I am my plan

I breathe my plan

I live my plan

it's mine

For the taking, the shaking, the shaping, of me

And my destiny.
5. Eliminating Distractions

I don't let anything get in the way of my plan, my purpose.

It's the most important thing to me

I shut the door

My phone is in the other room

I put on my headphones

Focus Flow mode on

It's the only thing that exists
6. Counting to 10 before reacting

Breathing in, breathing out

I am aware of my trigger

I am aware of my anger

But my anger is not me, it's an emotion I am feeling.

In these 10 seconds I have a chance to calm its effect

I am in control

My reaction will be a conscious one.
7. No Complaining

I quit complaining.

If I can't change it, what's the point?

An angry mood when it's already happened?

Makes no sense.

I should better look for the solution

Together with my reaction, they're the 2 things I can control.
8. Positive Vibes

Every disappointment is a blessing, my father used to say.

This has become my life mantra

"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change"

- Wayne Dyer

Look and find the positive, and the positive will find you.
