Circling back with an update on my great-grandfather's citizenship questions from the other day.

First- many thanks to all that offered hints & suggestions for solving the mystery. Much appreciated! This is a great community.

Second- @DT_Genea are you here? This ties into your migration follow-up for Enoch Mannin.

It's amazing how one little item that makes you think "huh?" opens the door to a completely new line of research leading to so many genealogical findings and family history discoveries...
A closer look at immigration paperwork reveals Henry East previously lived in the US from birth to June 1908. When in Canada, he lived in Ogema, Saskatchewan (founded in 1908). That year, Saskatchewan opened up land for homesteading. I'll bet that's why he went there...
Henry also lists a relative in Ogema: brother-in-law Will Horn. Will was married to Sarah Barnett's sister Emma. Could have more family members gone north too?
I found a book about the early days of Ogema & several family members are mentioned in it. Jesse Wilson Barnett (my great-grand uncle) is listed as a resident killed in World War I.

Time to find others in the family that made the trek to Saskatchewan...
Much like his father who moved the family from Kentucky to Minnesota, it seems my 2x-great grandfather Jesse Munroe Barnett picked up sons, daughters & spouses to continue the migration north into Canada.

I added red dots on this chart where I have documentation for Canada.
To be eligible for a Canadian land grant in 1908, one needed to be a British subject. Looks like a bunch of the group renounced US citizenship and applied for homestead patents.
In February 1913, Jesse's wife Nancy died. In March, Sarah and 9-month-old Setha return to the US. Her death likely played a big part in the decision to leave Canada. It was not much longer until Henry also returned to the US (leading to his 1917 Declaration of Intent).
