Jurgen Klopp on Man City:

"I think I’ve said it before, if City had not been there we probably would have won one more at least, that’s how it is. If Pep would not be the manager he is, I would’ve probably won one or two more with Dortmund in the cup final maybe." 🔴
Klopp: "No, it’s not at all frustrating. I respect, I always respected in my life, if somebody was better than me. And that’s easy because so many people are better than me! When we were in school, I never hated the guy who was the best in the class, never!"
Klopp: "I think life makes absolute sense that you learn to accept your own strengths and weaknesses, these kind of things, so it’s absolutely fine. I feel a little bit for our people, it would be nice if they could celebrate more often but that’s it."
Klopp: "For me, second place, when I look back on my career I will not think, ‘Ah, we were only second’. I am not that person, so I enjoy the journey a lot and if you do that you have more good days than bad days because there might be one day where we don’t win."
Klopp: "I don’t know, that’s not a good day! But all the others leading to that day were really good and if you don’t appreciate them, then you’re making a mistake because that makes your life less enjoyable."
Klopp: "Yeah, no probably not, not the respect they would deserve because the world is obsessed with first place, but that’s fine. But they get enough respect. That’s really funny to hear, most of the time we talk about we win everything and now we talk about we win nothing."
Klopp: "So let’s just try to get something out of this season and then we will see. But I know so far this is an outstanding season, outstanding season if we win nothing, it was still an outstanding season if we go the Champions League final and all these kind of things."
Klopp: "It will still be an outstanding season. But no, we will not get the same respect for it as if we won it, but that’s the nature of the thing.”
