coworker asked what I would do now that I'm a principal engineer and I said "be dumber in public"

going to ask all the dumb questions in team slack so everyone too skittish to ask them can still benefit from the answers

going to troubleshoot live and stumble over myself and all the other shit that gets held against you despite literally all of us doing it in secret

I will get the same results but show my process, instead of working on it quietly for 12 hours and pretending I just knew the answer

people might think "god alice is dumb, how is she a principal" I WAS ALWAYS THIS WAY

they might demote me but it will take some time and meanwhile I will live gloriously
