Steal the SEO strategy my 7-figure agency uses:
1. Find the target keywords

- Ahrefs
- Serped
- SEMrush

You type in related terms, then it shows you:

- CPC
- Search Volume
- Difficulty scores

If you don’t know how to use them, watch a few videos on it.

Get familiar with it, the later steps will make more sense.
2. Plan The Structure

Before you can start creating content, you must understand the structure of your site:

- Which are the main target terms?
- Do you want to rank the home page?
- What are the supporting pages?
3. Mapping It Out

Create a visual map of your categories and pages.

Each page targets a different user intent keyword so that you have all the main keywords you want to target covered.

You can also plan sub-keywords onto each page to keep an overview.
4. Build the site, or make changes, if needed.

Every business is different, and depending on where it is when you start doing this, you may need to implement something else.

If you don’t have a site, build it with the structure you created in the last step.
5. Analyze

Now it’s time to analyze competitors, where you look at the core components of SEO.

Here’s what you need to look at + the tools I use

- Content (Audiit)
- Backlinks (Ahrefs)
- Your Technical SEO (Sitebulb)

Let’s look at the components more specifically.
6. Analyze Competitors' Content

Optimize for success, I use http://Audiit.io  for this.

It shows you:

- Where to include the keyword
- How long your content should be

All of this exact data is based on what’s already ranking, i.e proven to work.
7. SEO

It’s time for the less popular side of SEO:

Technical SEO

Here, I suggest getting a site audit from sitebulb and implementing the steps. If you need help, hire a Dev.

Some components of technical SEO include:

- Site speed
- Crawlability
- Fixing broken links
8. Backlinks

After you’ve made sure your website has no technical SEO issues, you need to build backlinks.

For this I use Ahrefs to fetch competitors data.
Check what type of backlinks your competitors have by looking at:

- Traffic on the sites linking to them
- Quality (Relevance, power, authority)
- Quantity of good links

Now you have a decent idea of what type of links you need to beat them.
I usually use my network to build links, and use a mix of:

- Guest Posts
- Niche Edits
- Press Releases
- PBNs

You can access my network too, just keep reading.
8B) Skyscraper-technique

Another step we implement depending on the competitors, and size of project:

- The Skyscraper technique

Here’s how it works:
1. Create better content than competitors

2. Check what sites are linking to your competitors

3. Reach out to them, offer value and get them to link to your article instead.

You gain links, competitors lose = skyrocket rankings
9. Legiit

As promised, I told you that you can access my network. I own a freelancing platform called Legiit.

I have backlink services there, and so do a ton of my SEO agency friends.

You can get the same links I get here. http://Legiit.com
