I just want to post this before the idea disappears from my mind:
#XiCheng w Dark!Lxc and JC!meimei.

-
They've been secretly dating, and... Discovering each other's body, finding things they like and things that make the other one shiver.
But it takes a bad turn when lxc overhears a conversation between Madam You and her daughter, scolding her about how improper it looks that JC is spending so much time alone w another man, when she's engaged w another one.
And lxc just /can't have this/.

Lemme grab some dinner and I'll brb ✌️

Why didn't JC told him about this before?
Was she planning on marrying to another family?

Xichen always makes sure to prepare a special tea to prevent JC from getting pregnant. That was an agreement between both of them...

But it seems that he'll have to change the recipe.
He received a letter from JC, inviting him to visit her in her home, but he can't stay in LP any longer. Not until he makes this his second home. Officially.

He needs to prepare to welcome JC in his house.
He needs to prepare himself and acquire more knowledge about teas.
He /needs to know/ which tea will be more effective to guarantee she'll get pregnant.

So he leaves in a rush, not even caring about manners, and once he arrives to gsl, he goes straight to the forbidden part of the library.
A little more knowledge won't hur anyone.

And he wants to be prepared for every possible /issue/ that might appear.

A/N: Just want to clarify that this'll have dub-con, and I'll make sure to add the proper warnings. If you need specific warnings, please lmk.

When JC could finally escape from her mother's scolding, lxc wasn't there.

She was... She was pretty sure lxc promised he would come, then, why isn't he here?

Maybe... Maybe he was just busy attending sect matters.
"Pffff, JC, what are you doing? Of course he must be busy" JC reprimanded herself. "It hasn't been two weeks, and you're like this just because you can't see him today" she wanted to distract herself, so she went sparring with her shixiongs.
Two days later, she received a special and /urgent/ letter from gsl. It didn't have the seals that indicated official sect matters, so this one's a personal one.

She was eager to read the letter her lover had sent, but once she read it...
Dear Wanyin

It is with deep sorrow in my heart that I must announce this to you. I had wanted to visit you one las time before all this came crashing down, but they locked me in my hanshi before I could leave.
Shufu and the elders agree that I have to marry a young mistress from a new sect to reinforce our bond, and later on... procreate an heir.

I was forbidden to contact you ever again. Be it letters, gifts or meeting you in person.

I'm afraid destiny is not on our side, Wanyin.
I hope that in the next life we can have the life we so fervently desired.

Forever yours,
Lan Huan.
What...?

What is going on with her life?

Why is this happening all of a sudden?

She was going to break his engagement, even if it meant ruining her own name.

But why-?
Marriage.
And heir.
Lxc with another person that /it's not her/.

And they won't even let /him/ leave his hanshi?

No, no. This is just not right.

If her family wants her to marry a rich sect, it'll be the sect that she /decides/.
She made her mind, stepped on Sandu and went straight to cr.

No one knew about her leaving.
Except for one black cladded person with a curious pair of eyes.
––––
On her way to CR, she analyzed the letter, and her heart felt heavy inside her chest.
Lxc's strokes were shaky and there were a few ones that were blurry, as of someone had dropped water on those.

"He must've been so sad and angry..." She mumbled, keeping the letter close to her chest.
When she landed near the hanshi, she made sure no one was around her, or passing by, and then entered lxc's home without knocking on his door.

Once she entered, she saw his man, sitting in front of his table and focused on a pair of letters.
He looked out of himself. He's not himself right now. And JC can't let him go, nor this... Whatever is between them.

When she got closer to him, he finally reacted and looked at her, aghast.
"Wanyin, what are you doing here in the middle of the night?" He said, standing up and getting closer to her.

When he cupped her face with his hands, she finally saw the dried tears on his face and his puffed eyes.

He removed his outer robe and draped it over her shoulders.
She just stood there, and she seemed to forget how to speak.

"Do you want it?" She lowered her head and asked.

"What do you mean, Wanyin?" He asked, not knowing what she meant, while he got them closer to his bed.
"your marriage with... Whoever they are. /Do you want it/?" She asked, finally looking at him.

Lxc seemed to understand what all this was about. He looked downcast.

Lxc made JC stand up so he could walk away from the bed, turning his back on her.
"unfortuyfor us, Wanyin, this is not about what I want. It's my time to repay everything my sect has given to me. It is /my/ duty." He was tense. She could see it from the way he squared his shoulders.
"As I mentioned in my letter, it's a decision Shufu and the elders made, and I have no word in this. The only thing left to do, is accept we weren't meant to b-"

"Don't you dare say that to me, Lan Xichen!" She yelled at him, and that surprised lxc enough to make him look at her
But then again, he looked uncomfortable.

"Wanyin, please understand and don't make this harder for us, please" he mumbled and a single tear fell to the ground.

"I'm not giving up on us, Lan Xichen. Are you?"
"I think you should go, Wanyin" he turned around and went straight to another table behind the privacy screen. JC could hear the tinkling of the tea cups, as if lxc were preparing something. "Miss Luo promised me she would be here soon, and I think-"
"Who what?!!" JC jumped from the bed and stood next to lxc. "Why her, A-Huan?! Why not me?! I was about to end my engagement with-"

"Your what?" Lxc dropped the teacup and his face... Oh gods... His face.

JC could see many emotions in his eyes... But one stood out.
Disappointment.

The thing that JC hated the most.

The thing that is always present in her mother's eyes.

The tone always present in each one of his father's words.

Disappointment.

And now she's seeing it in front of her. In her lover's eyes.
"you... You were going to /marry/ someone? And /you/ didn't tell /me/?" He looked down to see the broken teacup. "I... I think you should leave, Jiang Cheng"

No. No, no, no, no. Not you, A-Huan.
"A-Huan, that is not-" she sighed, feeling anxious and guilty, as if she had done something terrible, but- "what's this, A-Huan?" JC asked, looking at the teapot on the table.

Lxc followed her eyes and then, he paled.
"Miss Luo and I promised that we would look for some teas to start working... To-" he coughed and cleared his throat "to start trying to make and heir" he said, but he never made eye contact with JC.

JC could feel Zidian already coming to life, and lighting up the hanshi.
But then... A sudden calmness washed over her.

She said nothing. JC only took a few steps forward and picked up the teapot, drinking most of the tea in one gulp.

"Jiang Wanyin!!" Lxc yelled, trying to stop her from doing so, but it was too late.

He's always too late...
"You're not gonna marry /her/, Lan Huan. You must have me instead." She said before kissing lxc desperately.

/Her/ Lan Huan.

As much as lxc loved the lips of his beloved, he had to stop her.
"Jiang Cheng, that was pretty reckless. That wasn't meant for you. Miss Luo is on her wa-"

"If you haven't already noticed... I don't give a shit about her" JC said, already undressing, not caring where she left her clothes.

The messier, the better.
She wants this place to smell like her.

She wants to leave a permanent purple in the walls of the hanshi.

She wants this to be her home.

She'll make this her home. And no one else will have him.

No matter the cost.
