It took me 3 months to figure out how to use Twitter right.

But then I quickly grew my audience to over 39,000.

Here are 11 Mistakes I made that you shouldn't repeat:
1/ Not engaging

Twitter is a platform where you give and take.

But give give give give, and then take.

Engage with other accounts add more value to their tweets in comments.
If you regularly engage with at least 10-15 accounts, they will notice you.

I wasted my initial days just focusing on

MY tweets

MY likes

MY comments

It didn't work well.

Engaging with others is the best hack to buy attention.
2/ Not observing top accounts in my niche

I kept thinking about what will work by doing multiple permutations and combinations.

But the fact is if you follow top accounts or top tweets patterns and try to follow them, you succeed much faster.
Bookmark tweets and come back to them again when you need inspiration.

The strategies that worked for them will work for you, too.

Learning from successful accounts is the best hack.
3/ Didn't leverage DM

I never knew DM could do wonders in building a solid friendship and connection.

I used to approach 0 people in DM when I started my journey.

Today I offer my products for free to many of them in DM.

Remember to GIVE.

Don't ASK first.
Reach to different accounts on Twitter build relationships with them.

You can support each other this way.

Keep your DM's open; many people have their DM closed.

Closed DM's = Closing door to new opportunities.
4/ Not optimizing the Bio

Bio makes or breaks your profile.

I had added random text before that didn't make sense to my audience.

I used to get profile visits but no following.

If you have more profile visits and fewer followers, it's time to A / B test your bio.
5/ Kept posting threads

When I had less than 500 followers, I was posting threads.

But the fact is no one will ever notice it as you don't have much following.

Don't waste time on the thread; focus on small tweet formats and add more value to top accounts.
6/ Waiting for tweets to go viral

This is the worst thing you can ever do while growing your audience.

I have gone viral 10-15 times till now, and true it brings 1000's followers.
But you know what matters most?

Every single tweet

You are getting noticed by may every single day.

Keep posting; You will go viral in no time.
7/ Have more expectation

I spent hours writing tweets and getting less than ten likes in return.

I kept on expecting too much when I tweeted.

You can never control what will happen next; all you can do is keep posting good content.

Never rely on Twitter Algo.
8/ Never spend time on Analytics

I used to keep thinking of what to tweet when I already had the analytics to measure.

Follow a simple rule:

DOUBLE down on what's working.

CUT DOWN what isn't.
9. Reuse old content

I never used to reuse my content which performed well.

But the fact is you can write the same tweet in 100 different ways.

Recycle old content, which is 2-3 months old.
10. Didn't Turn on Notification Bell

I never knew this is the best hack ever to buy attention.

As soon as a big account posts a tweet or thread but amongst the first ones to add an extra cent to their tweet.

It will bring you more likes.
11. Didn't use Twitter List

I never knew how a Twitter list could be useful.

But then I create a different list for

1. Inspiration accounts list

2. Engagement account list

3. Friends list

I'm 5x more productive now and never miss any amazing tweets.
