NEW VIDEO: 10 Mistakes to Avoid on Facebook Ads in 2022

These are also the MOST COMMON mistakes I see when performing account audits at Thesis.

Are you making any of these? 🧵
1. Using a Facebook Ads "funnel"

Even for my accounts spending $500K or more per month... we're only using 3 campaigns:

1 Creative Testing Campaign, Broad
1 Core Prospecting Campaign
1 Retargeting Campaign

seem familiar, @codyplof ? :)
2. Testing more audiences than creatives

Still seeing a lot of newbie media buyers trying to game the system by testing single interest ad sets and multiple % breakdowns of LALs.

Stack your interests. Test a 5% or 10% LAL. And test more creatives.
3. Not testing into broad

... not going to dive into this one. Test your creatives on broad and throw another broad audience into your core campaigns for maximum scalability.
4. Not using third party data

At Thesis, we use http://Funnel.io  to triangulate Google Analytics, Shopify, platform, and post-purchase surveys. I also suggest many of our clients to check out @triplewhale.
5. Not looking at the right metrics.

Here's a video breakdown of the exact metrics dashboard I use to analyze my campaigns:
6. Not testing into multiple kinds of creative formats

Video is hot and you should do it, but also try GIFs, carousels, images, boomerangs, and collection ads.

I've had some major wins on images lately, mostly due to low CPMs.
7. Not considering your landing page flow or your offer

If you're new, try testing sending traffic to your homepage, a PDP, and a best-selling collections page.

As you progress, try overview pages, listicles, and quizzes to warm up traffic.
8. Spending too much on retargeting

At Thesis, we typically spend 90% of budgets on prospecting and only 10% on retargeting.

Spending too much on retargeting often isn't iNcReMeNtAl ✨
9. Not having a cohesive creative strategy

Do you know what you're testing next and why?

If not, then you don't have a creative strategy :)

HUGE video upcoming on this!
10. Spending all your budget on Facebook Ads

I'm super bullish on TikTok this year. It's a major focus for my team.

I actually have a new role at Thesis where a literal THIRD of my job is dedicated to making this work.

Aiming to 10X spend there by end of year.
