Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified parent, Chris Palicki, gets emotional sharing his teenage son’s story to Children’s Health Defense. Holding back tears, Palicki sets the scene of his high school student being forced to sit outside in freezing SoCal temps bec he wore a mesh mask.

To offer clarity about Southern California temps, in this community the average temp in January was 58 degrees (including evening temps). It can get “chilly” for SoCal standards in the evening and early morning, but 46 during school hours for “several hours”seems… exaggerated.

Mesh masks has been a running fight in Placentia-Yorba Linda. After a whole 6th grade was closed bec of an outbreak, parents held protests in front of the campus demanding mesh masks be allowed.
