When my brand started on TikTok, views were easy.

It was 2020. Lots has changed since.

Now, every e-commerce brand wants to win TikTok.

The TikTok algorithm prioritizes:

• Rewatches
• Video completion
• Shares

But the most important is the first few seconds...
When the video you post first goes live, TikTok "samples" your video

Dependant on how those first 200-1000 people react determines how much more views you& #39;ll get

To come out on top, you must master the HOOK...
A few ways to hook:

1) Make open-ended statements

Ex: "soap does THIS to your skin?"

2) Show before & after content

Ex: Before VS After shapewear

3) Use humor/emotions

Ex: "pov: you just started your small business and already wanna quit"
Posting 2-4x a day is the norm

But you need to thoroughly test video ideas

Don& #39;t let 1 or 2 videos that flop kill the whole vibe

Plan out what you plan on posting and stick to it for 2-3 weeks to get data

What do you post tho...
The first half of the equation is self-explanatory

Show your product in action and what makes it unique

Do this in a fun way that you would to a friend at a party

TikTok users can smell BS from a mile away, you will get called out in the comments.
The second half is the dirty work.

Before you produce, you must consume.

Tactically study other brands on your FYP and who use relevant hashtags so you can piggyback

Simply use the app for 25 mins/day

Because the first win is always the hardest...
Once you get the first viral video out of the way, you can evaluate:

• Was this a funny fluke?
• Could I make videos similar to that one?
• Can I subtly sell my product in those videos?

If B & C are yes, you need to double down
Various times, you& #39;ll see creators test hundreds of things

When something sticks, they BECOME that persona

Brands don& #39;t need to do that

But replicate what already works 50% of the time .

Seeking more original content for the other half is a good mix.

We& #39;re working on that.
More video ideas I& #39;ve seen do well:

• Founder stories (how it started vs how it& #39;s going)
• Funny customer inquiries (hot right now)
• Process related (ex: prepping an order)
• ASMR/aesthetic content
• Anything with bf/gf and/or pets
• Unscripted product reactions
The TLDR before you start TikTok:

1) Optimize for content people can re-watch
2) Create hooks based on your audience& #39;s persona
3) Test test test, then evaluate
4) Every second saved, the better
5) Double down on posting what works
6) Good organic TikToks can be great ads
