"Slow cooling lava forms columnar basalts, look at this drawing!"

Is that a real place?

"No!"

Has any of what you're saying been observed in nature?

"No, not in the entire history of mankind!"

Has it been replicated in a lab?

"Yes, with soap bubbles and cornstarch!"
Oh, how has it otherwise been proven?

"With peer review and mathematical models!"

Oh no, but how was the idea first accepted?

"Nicholas Desmarest saw some near a volcano one time!"
Is there columnar basalt in other places, perhaps in places where there is no volcanism?

"Yes, it's everywhere. If there are no active volcanoes nearby we just say there was one 60-500 million years ago!"

How could you possibly prove that, do you find old lava tubes?

"lmao!"
This is how they do it. These clowns form a consensus, most often deeply colored by their own occult or religious beliefs—the battle to determine the origin of prismatic basalt was between 'Neptunians' and 'Vulcanists'— and then it's dropped into the "peer review" ouroboros.
We can do this, and we can do it better. This is why I have formed my own peer-review oroboros.
