1/ # 3.6 Metrics

These are the MC, supply, total supply, price and token emission schedule.

Begin by looking what type of project is it? A blockchain platform, an oracle, a Defi Protocol etc. Get an overview of what it is.
2/ Don't bother reading the whitepaper (It's a BS brochure). Just get a rough idea of what its doing (saying it will do / will become). Find the Telegram channel (the real one), look through and find what people in there are comparing it to.
3/ Usually all these projects have other bigger projects that they compare themselves with. There will be some that don't have one but if it does you need to find that. With blockchain platforms its always either $ETH or the ones that have done well such as $AVAX.
4/ With oracles it will be $LINK and so on. This comparison will usually be the core of the price gain narrative. 'This is like X but is only Y MC'.

You then need to expand on it by looking at the price, total supply, circulating. The lower the MC the better.
5/ The more tokens that are circulating the better because it helps the narrative for price action.

Next you want to check the emissions of the token unlocks. What is the emissions chart like (Often if they don't have one then they've not made one for a reason: it looks bad).
6/ On the unlocks for pre/private sale find out when are those unlocks, what price did they pay?

If the token price is $10 and 30% of the supply is unlocking in 3 months time for people who paid $0.25 in the private sale, then its a negative.
7/ Because that will lead to selling and people selling in anticipation of them.

Build an understanding of the token unlocks. Look at the steepness of the unlocks. The more gradual the better.
8/ Where theres unlocks you need to weigh up whether the narrative/price action/marketing will compensate for that. This is a very important thing to check.

There are also potential positives in vestings.
9/ If you look back on CT and see someone was shilling it prior to the public sale/TGE, it's more than likely they were in from the pre-sale or private sale. Starting in the TG find out the vesting details vesting details for those sales and when the unlocks happen.
10/ If you find out they don't get any tokens for 6 months you know that CT will keep shilling it until they have their tokens.

Its important to remember that CT will keep shilling it even when they are selling. They won't tell you when they've sold.
11/ They will just start shilling the next thing they've bought and gradually over time stop mentioning the project.
