the way hollywood tricked us into thinking we could get a prince to fall in love with us because we werent awestruck by him

this trend has happened on a few other occasions

after american actress grace kelly began a relationship w/the prince of monaco in 1955 — called a "fairytale in real life" — quite a few films about royal relationships were made
and ofc in the 2010s we saw a huge uptick in cheesy hallmark-esque movies about "ordinary women" falling in love with princes because royal weddings (harry+meghan/will+kate) were all the rage
