10 Memory Techniques You Should Know.

- Thread -
1. The Big Picture Technique.

- Don't memorize, understand the larger context.

- Learn from the general to the specific. Ensure to make the topic is meaningful.
2. The Memory Palace Technique.

- A Memory Palace is a metaphor for any well known place that you're able to easily visualize.

- It can be the inside of your home, or maybe the route you take every day to work.

- That familiar place will be your guide to store and recall info.
3. The Stimulation Memory Technique.

- When you are stuck and can't remember something, remember something else that is related to it.

- Similar information is stored in the same area of brain. Recall by stimulating that area of your memory.
4. The Revision Technique.

- Even information stored in long term memory becomes difficult to recall if we don't use it regularly.

- To remember something, access it a lot.

- Read it, write it, speak it, listen to it, apply it - find some way to make contact with that info.
5. The Long-Term Memory Technique.

- To escape from the short term memory trap, do a short review within hours.

- This makes the information you grasped to be stored in the long term memory.
6. The Teaching Technique.

- To teach something, you should understand the subject well, analyze it and able to explain the same to others in a manner they can understand.

- In this process, you remember the information multiple times better than just reading it.
7. The Drawing/Writing/Repetition Technique.

- Try to give a pictorial representation of what you learnt or write down key points/words.

- Keep repeating what you have learnt. This makes it easier to remember and recall.
8. The Chunking Technique.

- Break the whole information into pieces and try to relate and remember.

- Rather than remembering 18001101223 as a single number, break it into chunks and remembering it will be easier, like 1800-110-1223
9. Mnemonics Technique.

- Invent a sentence where the first letter of each word is a cue to an idea you need to remember

For example - to remember order of planets - mercury, venus, earth, Mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune

"My very excellent mother just served us nachos"
10. The Organizing Memory Technique.

- Organized information is easier to remember.

- Try to organize the information in an order.

- For example, to remember a group of events, try remembering in chronological order.
How about you stop dwelling on past and regretting your failures?

How about you take full control over your emotions, thoughts and actions?

What if you could design your ideal future yourself?
