Product markets have 3 stages:

1) Clueless - What is that?

2) Curious - I've heard of it

3) Saturated - I've heard it too much
You can think of these stages like surfing waves:

For the Clueless market, you need to create the wave.

For the Curious, you need to catch the wave.

And if you try to enter the Saturated, the wave will body slam your ass.
Today, everyone knows about probiotics. The market is saturated, AF.

But in 2013, if I told a friend they had bacteria in their body, they'd say,

"Shoot, do I need to see a doctor?"

This is the Clueless stage.
At this stage, your job is to educate the market.

But educating with boring science stuff wouldn't make people care.

Because here's the truth:

No one cares about your product.

They *only* care about what it can do for them.
Few knew what a gut microbiome was.

So we explained how food companies add sugars & sweeteners to nearly every food in your pantry.

And how those sweeteners feed bad bacteria.

And how adding good bacteria - probiotics - can help balance that.

And good balance = great poops.
We teamed up with a top doctor and put this simple message in an educational video.

And it worked.

Google searches for the term “probiotics” went from 46 to 100 in a few weeks.
Meaning we more than doubled its popularity, from our ads alone.

We had created the wave.

And the sales rolled in.
