but in my opinion some of them didn't turn into puppets; hongjoong, san, seonghwa and wooyoung!
but yeosang, mingi, jongho and yunho got trapped!
you can see how upset wooyoung is when he sees yeosang trapped in that fedora man

you can also see here that san tried to save yeosang by breaking the mirror multiple times but couldn't save him

this white masked man reminded me of mama wooyoung holding chain in his hand, maybe that explains why there is a tension between yunho and wooyoung, we will see in the future!
ateez makes deal with fedora men, they toast and leave the table BUT then why wooyoung comes back and kills his fedoraman?
i think that wooyoung struggles with controlling himself and get ateez into trouble because of this

there is a relation between yeosang and mask because he does this move very often
this part is important because you can see that fedora men are the ones who gave sword to yunho, gun to seonghwa and mask to yunho again!
maybe fedora men offered them power if ateez accepts to turn into them

maybe that's why we saw yunho's ankle through mask's eye in the rhythm ta performance, maybe he was the chosen one for the mask
you can see san praying before sacrificing himself to kill masked man but wooyoung is trying to stop him or just wants to say goodbye

they are also giving references to their other choreographies!
hongjoong is blindfolded and obeying the masked men (he might be sacrificed his power/authority to save ateez) but then jongho comes and saves him
we didn't see how jongho escaped but i think that jongho might be the spy in the group (like i've mentioned in my previous theories) and he would get the crown and be the king if he betrays ateez but he decides to choose ateez over the crown
ateez fights against masked men and fedora men and wins, hongjoong touches jongho's shoulder to thank him for choosing ateez over crown, jongho lets hongjoong to stay as their king/captain!
another possibility about jongho throwing the crown is that they might be rejecting fedoramen's power offer because ateez is more important than crown and power for them
"sacrificing" also reminded me of this
in Hala Hala MV at the beginning of the dance break part they're throwing away their fedoras and breaking their necks at the end (sacrificing) to free themselves from their fedora bodies maybe that's why they call themselves "suicide squad"
