Here is a series of three images showing a cloth mask (image from Neupane et al. 2019 p9) compared to a 10 micron droplet and 0.1 micron SARS-CoV-2 virions. First the cloth mask:

Then the 10 micron droplet. Droplets any larger than this are stopped by your body's defences and cannot get into your upper respiratory tract.

And finally SARS-CoV-2 virions inside the droplet. Thinking your cloth mask can stop a 10 micron droplet, let alone 0.1 micron virions, is a terrible miscalculation of scale.
