How to win over the emotional brain and be logical?

-THREAD-
Stop thinking of it as a battle and start thinking about it as a BALANCE.

you can't be logical all the time it's fucking hard.
Don't put your emotional side and your logical side at odds,

and expect yourself to side with the least appealing side.

Don't be hard on yourself,

that's a tough position to be in!
Here's the thing,

people think we have a logical side and emotional side and that one side is right and one side is wrong.

Angel and Devil, right?
But the logical side isn't usually any more correct than the emotional side.

example,

saving money is logical and smart,

but denying yourself something you want isn't necessarily the best course of action.
It sets you up for failure,

and that's not logical!

Plus, relaxation and entertainment are worth spending money on even if it isn't logical.
There's an in-between.

Some people call it Wise Mind.

It's a balance between the two.

Instead of giving yourself an impossibly hard decision between what seems fun and easy and desirable and what seems correct but hard or unnatural,

spark a balance between the two.
