The Xu Dezhong book (not a secret doc) is no smoking gun. It shows Chinese military scientists *thought* about coronavirus as a weapon (by the US). It’s an extraordinary claim to make & requires extraordinary evidence to prove. Scientists’ thinking, even state-paid ones, does not equate policy. This is especially true to a policy as big as bioweapon. Listen to people who can actually read this document, please. 2/
Find the lab, find the actual smoking gun, and then make the claim. That’s what journalism and research are actually for. /end
Last, I’ll add. Embellishment, exaggeration, drawing conclusions from thin evidence on a matter of life and death of so many, will have long lasting negative impacts and undermine genuine, rigorous investigations by others to come. It’s harmful. Please stop
