I am so tired of all these think pieces about why people aren’t giving up masks fast enough although the CDC says it’s safe. We spent 4 years not able to trust ANYTHING coming out of the government, so we have some trust issues now.

Also, there is a LARGE portion of the population that is still unvaccinated. My vaccination protects me from death and probably hospitalization, but not from illness altogether. We don’t know if vaccinated people can get long COVID, and that’s the part that scares me the most.

Also remember when the CDC told us NOT to wear masks?!? That was not that long ago. I’ll keep wearing this thing, thanks. It doesn’t hurt ANYONE (including myself) for me to keep wearing it.

I work in a public building. We are not yet open to the public, but we will be soon, and then ANYONE can spend hours here. I can’t tell you how many times I have cleaned up bodily fluids, despite that not being what my job is. I will be masking at work for a LONG TIME.
