I wonder how the people in the replies and QRTs feel about lesbian being an umbrella term, and if it shouldn't, how they feel about essentially arguing that bi women don't belong in lesbian bars, which is the unspoken implication I'm getting from this convo https://twitter.com/b00mkittyy/status/1383166737877766146
I can't think of a better context than lesbian bars where the platitude "lesbian isn't an umbrella term" doesn't apply and has never applied

which is a different reason why this makes me sad - it sends a message that lesbians bars shouldn't be trying to accommodate mspec women
when mspec women have always been part of those spaces since their inception

I guess there is also the fact that lesbian bars can't enforce rigid entrance policies like online spaces can, it's ignorance or naivety to believe that lesbian bars are lesbian-exclusive spaces
they are lesbian centric or lesbian focused, but recently for a lot of people that's not good enough to be considered a lesbian space anymore

you can't have it both ways.
also not happy about the insinuation that lesbian spaces are under threat becuase queer venues want to be more encompassing of the queer community, and that this will be "just another gay bar"

when people point out you are sounding like TERFs, this is why
queer spaces aren't a threat to lesbians or lesbian spaces. inclusivity is not a threat to lesbians or lesbian spaces. there is no plot by nefarious mustache twirling gay men to turn all lesbian bars into bars for gay men like that "just another gay bar" comment implies
if you take nothing else from this thread I'd be happy if you looked at this image and thought real hard about what it means for mspec women, who have always belonged in these spaces
