Alright hey everyone. Ive never made a thread before so please bare with me on this one. I just wanted to address some things which occurred over the past few weeks or to be more specific (yesterday).
So as many of us know yesterday @juptej ‘s article was posted on a website (I will link it below). And based on that many of us were angered with the contents written in it. I will not be going into full detail here. https://twitter.com/baaznewsorg/status/1391841880997044231
It had about (170+) quote tweets from people who had their own views about the article. Some were praising it and some had mixed opinions or didn’t agree with the article at all. Which is absolutely fine ,no problem with that. Everyone has their own views.
What was a bit off to me were the comments and quote tweets on the people who were in partial agreement with the article. Now getting to the point here.. We all pretty much saw the word “sikh atheist “ used a bunch of times .
Which was in response to a tweet in a thread made by @sukhisukhii .
(Which I am in no way agreeing/praising this due to my own opinions).

Now the reason why this bothered me is not because had opinions on this as well. Most people simply stated “We do not agree with this” or “This is false” which again , Absolutely fine by me. Some people took it upon themselves to abuse/har1ss her.
Some people said “ @sukhisukhii” called out people for being “mone” and not “upholding sikh values”. But I will paste the links to the tweets clearly shows people mocking her opinions and she in return commenting on their appearance. https://twitter.com/billojatt/status/1391933922418831364

And I will amply once again. If anyone feels like I have either written something wrong/ disrespected anyone’s opinions please let me know and I will delete the respective tweet

I’m saying it again. I do not represent sukhi. I am simply placing things that I have observed yesterday. If anyone would like me to add anything here please message me.
As per my thinking These incidents have created division among our people and have diverted people from fighting for the farmers

Everyone has his/her views about sikhi . Abusing and harassing them isn’t going to change anything. If you wish to call someone out for saying something wrong. Do it peacefully not with abusive quote tweets.
