india today is having more cases a day than the rest of the world combined. there are so many deaths that there is no longer any space in crematoriums to cremate bodies. on top of that people are capitalising off the situation.

the price for booking slots in crematoriums has shot up very high very fast and people can't afford to give their loved ones their last rites. crematoriums on the other hand have people, usually people from the dba community, working over time often without proper safety measures
what issues is this causing ?
people are being forced to dump their love ones bodies into the Ganges without cremation. these bodies are mostly covid positive and as such are facilitating the spread of the virus.

people are dying. a holy river will never hold as much importance as peoples' lives.

also the government is doing absolutely nothing. multiple twitter accounts got suspended on the request of the central govt. because they were spreading covid 19 resources.
there is severe shortage of oxygen cylinders, medicine and vaccines because the centre decided it would be better to sell these off when the cases started going down initially.
hospitals have no beds. literally none. my grandmother's sister couldnt get a bed. doctors are working overtime. the centre is blaming the state and the state is blaming the centre.
despite multiple warnings from experts election rallies and religious gatherings were held which became superspreaders. the people were ignorant definitely but the government's ignorance and apathy plays a much huger role in the situation as it is today
also if you're looking up case numbers in india please know that journalist statistics say that the number of cases is at least 5 times more than what is being reported because the state and the centre are both fudging up data
