scarletvision has experienced an awful ton of 'platonic' designation; they could literally be portrayed as having a physical relationship (like in iw) and people would dismiss that as being platonic. Even now there are parts of mcutwt that fully believe that wanda is a virgin-

-despite overwhelming evidence from the show that she and vision have that sort of relationship. Wanda could be portrayed as having the slightest bit of tension with any human and people tend to uncritically assume that wanda's finally moved on- finally 'discarded' the robot.

this is parallel to some aspects of the lgbt+ experience, especially the designation of something so clearly special and cherished as a 'friend' thing. The amt of proof of having a relationship that both queer relationships and scarletvision have to display to be accepted-

into mainstream society as opposed to conventionally straight relationships- or even fetishised wlw, nblw, nblm, and mlm relationships- is a clear parallel. These reactions would not be garnered so frequently if the parallel wasn't so clear.

Vision's (and Wanda, but to a much lesser extent) humanity is also primarily measured in some circles through whether or not he can have children. His synthetic nature + assuming that he can't have kids carries the impression that he can't make wanda happy. this is false, obv.-

- but it is a parallel to lgbt+ experiences of feeling invalidated because it questions heteronormative ideals of parenthood and family.

Lastly, id just like to say that this thread is by no means universal! I'm simply explaining why I as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, find wandavision so engaging and comforting- because they're able to have a healthy and happy relationship where they find solace in each other.
