thinking about how "listen to queer people" actually means "listen to my opinions and assume every queer person agrees with them"
queer people agreeing on almost anything is not even approximately true and if you ask someone to listen to them you can get wildly different answers
this has and will be used to justify all kinds of bigoted behaviours
it's also of course based on hierarchical language, we ask the government and families to listen to queer people with the hopes that will inform a better use of their power
which is of course bullshit and will only ever rarely result in a "positive" outcome (assuming that can be reached) due to the fact that queer opinions vary so much
I'm not sure where I'm going with this thread and I'm not happy about my general wording on it, probably the worst one I've made, 4/10
